Waverley Park, originally known as VFL Park, is located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Mulgrave. Constructed by the VFL in the 1960s as a neutral venue, in the 1990s it became the home ground of both Hawthorn and St Kilda. Waverley also hosted the 1991 Grand Final due to the MCG being unavailable. It ceased operating as an AFL venue in 1999 when it was replaced by the newly-build Docklands stadium. While parts of the venue have been sold off and developed as housing, the heritage-listed grandstand remains in situ and Hawthorn continues to use the ground as its training and administration base.
