Queensland (Super Netball) 2014-2015
Decorated netballer Verity Simmons joined West Coast for 2024.
Netball career[]
Originally from Grafton in northern New South Wales, Simmons joined West Coast Fever in 2012 and played 159 league matches, including a two-year stint with the Queensland Firebirds, as well as three games for Australia. She played in the Fever's 2022 Super Netball premiership.
West Coast career[]
Retiring at the end of 2023, Simmons eyed a shift into Australian Rules football. West Coast won the race for her signature, announcing her arrival at the start of the trade period. Deployed on a wing where she could use her aerobic capacity, Simmons debuted in the opening round of 2024 and played seven games for the year, but was not offered another contract, ending her AFLW career after just one season.
