An exceptionally skinny key-position prospect, Tony Notte played two games in three seasons.
West Coast career[]
Highly rated in his draft class, West Coast picked up Tony Notte with one of the draft picks obtained in the Chris Judd trade. Expected to be a long-term prospect, the rake-thin Notte played two games late in the 2008 season in the midst of an injury crisis, having little impact in two losses.
Notte spent the next two years plying his trade at Swan Districts, being used at either end of the ground (though generally as a forward) and occasionally pinch-hitting in the ruck. While he showed glimpses, he did not show the development that the club had hoped of him, and he was delisted at the end of 2010. Adding insult to injury, he was left out of the Swans' victorious grand final side.
Post-AFL career[]
Notte continued to play at Swan Districts and has started to show why recruiters had such high expectations of him, winning Swans' best and fairest in 2013. He was elevated to co-captain in 2018, and won a second Swan Medal that year.[1]
