(54th Eagles player)
The son of Perth and North Melbourne legend Barry Cable, Shane was a skinny wingman who made a solitary appearance for West Coast in 1989.
West Coast career[]
After playing WAFL for Perth, Cable was added to the West Coast list in 1989. He made his debut against Footscray at the WACA as a late replacement for Chris Waterman, and picked up 7 possessions.
Dropped the following week, Cable was retained on the list for 1990 but did not play another game.
Post-VFL/AFL career[]
Cable went on to have a successful WAFL career with the Demons, winning their best and fairest in 1995 and topping their goalkicking twice. After his playing career finished he coached Peel Thunder for two seasons.
