West Coast suffered a heavy loss to reigning premiers Collingwood, blown away in the first half en route to an 66-point defeat. The visitors struggled to hold back the tide in the second term as the Magpies kicked away to a 55-point lead at the major break, but were able to fight back to an extent in the second half to minimise the scoreboard damage. The physical toll was another story, with Jack Petruccelle subbed out with an ankle injury and Jeremy McGovern taken to hospital with internal damage. Alex Witherden had a team-high 31 possessions and skipper Liam Duggan tallied 27 disposals and 676 metres gained.
