From the papers[]

The Age[]

"And with St Kilda 27 points up, the feeling that some other unholy catastrophe was about to swallow the match subsided.

Possibly the only people unaffected by the drama were the Eagles. They kept playing much the same as they had been; with no reliable forwards, a now-depleted, merry-go-round backline.

But they plugged away conscientiously, coming back briefly in the third quarter until Lockett banged through a few more; getting to within 18 points in the last, until Lockett banged through a few more.

He finished with 11, if you don't count the one kicked by Stewart Loewe that Lockett appeared to help through."[1]
