West Coast bounced back from four straight losses and its recent kicking woes in the most emphatic manner possible, kicking a club record 30 goals against the inexperienced Giants. Josh Kennedy led the charge with a remarkable haul of 11 straight goals, assisted by the returning Mark LeCras with four goals from 22 touches.

From the papers[]
The West Australian[]
"LeCras was less than 10 minutes in to his first game back from a broken arm when he collected Giants midfielder Will Hoskin-Elliot late and high in a crude challenge.
The umpires were quick to put him in the books after a round which has seen contact more heavily scrutinised than ever before, and the Eagles will face an anxious wait to hear what penalty the match review panel dishes out tomorrow.
Kennedy’s bag of eleven goals straight was the undisputed highlight of an afternoon which saw the home team register 12 individual goal-kickers and correct their recent inaccuracy in front of goals."
The Age[]
"Such was the dominance of the West Coast midfield that the Giants went inside 50 just 27 times (to West Coast’s 67), by far their worst effort for the season. The tone of the game was set in the first quarter when they managed just five entries to the Eagles’ 18.
The weight of possessions coming from Eagles Matt Priddis, Matt Rosa, Scott Selwood, Luke Shuey, Chris Masten and Elliott Yeo was too much for the Giants. Only captain Callan Ward, Toby Greene and Rhys Palmer managed more than 23 possessions.
It didn’t help that they lost defender Nick Haynes after just two minutes with an ankle injury.
It didn’t hurt the Eagles forwards, though."
Herald-Sun[]
"An irrepressible Kennedy finished the game with 11.0 as a straight-shooting West Coast, the most inaccurate team in the competition leading into the match, halted a four-game losing streak.
His haul was easily the biggest bag of goals by any player this season, with Kennedy kicking three in the opening term followed by two, two and four in the remaining quarters.
Oozing confidence, Kennedy booted his 10th goal entering time-on of the final term with fans clapping his run-up as if he was a bowler on a hat-trick."
East Perth report[]
East Perth ran roughshod over Claremont, opening up a 10-goal margin by halftime and going on to win by 80 points. The game was won in the midfield, where veterans Patrick McGinnity and Sam Butler were strong contributors.
Appearing for East Perth: Brennan, Butler, Carter, Colledge, Hill, McGinnity, McGovern, McInnes, Schofield, Sheed, Sinclair, Smith, Tunbridge. Reserves: Barrass, Karpany, Maginness, Main
