Looking for a fourth straight win, West Coast had a massive first quarter, kicking seven of the first eight goals, but by the final change Collingwood had fought their way back to take the lead. That lead was extended to 16 points early in the fourth quarter before a heroic comeback, led by Michael Gardiner's silver service to a star-studded midfield, saw the Eagles kick the last five goals and take a 16 point win. Andrew Embley had 25 possessions to go with four goals and Ben Cousins also notched up 25 disposals.
