From the papers[]

The Age[]

"The home side completely outplayed St Kilda in sometimes atrocious conditions. Perth had experienced 48 hours of storms and St Kilda must have felt that it copped the worst of the weather last night.

In fact, had the weather been as consistently atrocious as St Kilda's play in the first half last night, Perth would have been under water.

West Coast built its win on dominance right around the ground. Either with or against the strong wind, it was more skilled at getting to the foot of packs and sweeping the ball away. The backmen ran the ball out of defence against the wind and the small men snapped up whatever Chris Lewis and Andrew Lockyer missed on the forward line."[1]
