West Coast stunned the Dockers in Derby 58, controlling the game to record a stirring win after coming into the clash remote outsiders. The Eagles absorbed some early pressure, holding Fremantle goalless until midway through the second term, by which time they already had seven on the board. The Eagles' margin got as high as 64 points when Ryan Maric goaled on the three-quarter-time siren, and although the Dockers briefly threatened to stage a remarkable comeback with four quick goals to start the final term, West Coast were able to snuff out the challenge and reclaim the Derby crown in front of a rapturous crowd. Elliot Yeo won the Glendinning-Allan Medal with 26 possessions and six clearances, narrowly pipping Rising Star Harley Reid (19 touches, three goals and a Mark of the Year contender) and in-form forward Jake Waterman (five goals).
