In a tight match, West Coast were able to keep their noses in front for most of the day to continue their unbeaten start to the season. Matt Priddis kicked his first AFL goal, and then followed it up with two more to be among the side's best, while Darren Glass was his usual immoveable self in the backline.

From the papers[]

From the papers[]

"Eade alse swung leading forward Brad Johnson on to Judd in the third term in an effort to work offensively against the most influential player on the ground, and the Bulldogs skipper took the points momentarily when he goaled from a mark over Judd in the goal square.

Judd, though, remained nerveless and had 11 last-term possessions to help steady his side against a spirited Bulldogs who lacked the Eagles' class.

The game was far from a classic. Itwas a one-on-one chessboard struggle that gave Worsfold and his players further insight on what other sides will throw at them this year."[1]
