From the papers[]

The West Australian[]

"Jason Akermanis, the 2001 Brownlow medallist, was assigned the job of looking after Chris Judd and got absolutely scorched.

They say the best lift against the best and Judd appears to have made it one of his missions in life to visit devastation on Brisbane.

He gave them both barrels on Saturday night, 39 possessions, four goals and 10 clearances.

He was the game's highest scorer, its most prolific ball winner, both in stoppages and around the ground."[1]

The Age[]

"Judd goals book-ended the half.

He kicked the first two of the game, trademark surging efforts from boundary throw-ins deep in attack, then kicked the goal in the 28th minute of the second quarter that gave his team its 15-point half-time buffer.

But without the complete midfield dominance that West Coast is accustomed to at Subiaco Oval, its defenders were caught on the hop several times by Brisbane attacks.

Johnson, in particular, worried the hell out of Eagles small defender David Wirrpanda, and Johnson had a hand in most of Brisbane's first-half scores.

Jonathan Brown's battle with Adam Hunter was a highlight of the half, with Brown running tirelessly for 12 touches, six marks and 1.2, while Hunter did some running of his own to kick West Coast's eighth."[2]
