From the papers[]

The Sunday Age[]

"While Fevola - with his mighty kicks from weird angles, hard leads and deft footwork in the goalsquare - highlighted Carlton's superiority up forward, his teammates up the ground did an admirable job of beating the Eagles' highly rated midfield, which had played four breathtakingly close matches for two wins in the first month of 2004.

Pagan asked Jordon Bannister to run with Chris Judd, and the Bomber-turned-Blue didn't let him down, for Judd, despite collecting 20 touches, was prevented from doing his usual damage.

West Coast's other midfield stars, Ben Cousins and Daniel Kerr, had their moments but between them Nick Stevens, Brett Johnson and Scott Camporeale not only kept them from having any real influence on the game, but ensured bright contributions of their own.

Andrew Walker added something that could not have been expected of a teenager in his first game, Stevens gave the grunt and dash for which he was recruited from Port Adelaide and Johnson was prolific and polished."
