From the papers[]
The Age[]
"You could tell the Cats were having one of those days when, to the joy of the crowd, Cummings was dragged from the field late in the second quarter after Graham ran the length of the field to kick a goal. Captain's goals are often called team-lifting, Graham's was team-deflating - to the Eagles. They were not in the match thereafter.
West Coast played football for seven minutes in the second quarter, during which they booted five goals. They were within nine points at that point and looked threatening. The Cats responded with three goals in time-on to snuff the revival.
The second half was memorable for Geelong's ability to make almost every piece of play work, no matter how ambitious and far-fetched. Mensch, for instance, took a mark on an angle and accidentally played on. Forced to kick under pressure, he slotted the goal with a banana."[1]
