Brisbane held the Eagles to the first draw in the club's history, despite trailing at every change. Better accuracy might have earned West Coast two more premiership points, with Peter Sumich (two goals from seven scoring shots) the chief offender in his first game for the year. Dean Kemp led the way in his 50th appearance with 31 possessions.

From the papers[]
Canberra Times[]
"Last year's grand finalists looked shaky under a brave fight from the Brisbane side which stayed in touch for the entire match before a spectacular final minute which ended in the 14.8.92 (Brisbane)- 13.14.92 draw.
The Eagles thought they had the match wrapped up when forward Dean Kemp spotted his only goal of the match to give West Coast a six-point lead with just 38 seconds on the clock.
But that was before 19-year-old Brisbane emergency Ray Windsor came on to the scene with a clutch mark before kicking the equalising goal as the hooter sounded behind him.
Once again it was a sorry performance by the Eagles who seemed content to cruise along just in front, thinking they always had Brisbane's measure."[1]
