From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Three goals in the final eight minutes by Adelaide prevented the visitors' complete humiliation.

As the Eagles shortened their odds for the flag, their exhilarating half-forward Brett Heady served further notice of his class and Brownlow Medal potential with a scintillating four-quarter display. The 21-year-old was clearly best afield, collecting 22 telling possessions and finishing with five goals.

Heady, full-forward Peter Sumich, winger Chris Mainwaring and follower Dwayne Lamb led the Eagles' relentless charge. It was clear from the opening minutes that they would once again be difficult to stop in Perth."[1]
