From the papers[]

The Age[]

"The Bears were simply pathetic and for a half it seemed like the Eagles were determined to come down to their level. They "won" the first half battle to see who could be worse and trailed by 13 points at the long break.

But the Eagles' running division, sparked by Lamb and Lewis, and superbly supported at half-back and across the centre, took charge against the side that had one tall player too many from the outset and was found wanting at the fall of the ball throughout."[1]
