West Coast blitzed the Crows on a night when Scott Cummings set a new Eagles' goalkicking record, his haul of 14 beating Peter Sumich's 13 at the same ground in 1991. Cummings had five of his team's nine goals in the third term as they put Adelaide to the sword, with the Eagles' final score of 187 the second-highest in the club's history. Ben Cousins was also instrumental in the win with 33 possessions and 10 clearances.
