From the papers[]

Sydney Morning-Herald[]

"For those who didn't see Saturday's game at the WACA, one vignette sums it up. In the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, Wayne Schwass had wandered loose at the top of the 50m arc, received a long, low pass from Daryn Cresswell and, calm as ever, potted his fifth goal.

Sydney then led the Eagles by 15 points with 25 minutes of frenetic football to come.

Two minutes later, at the other end of the ground, a pack of seven or eight players wrestled fiercely over the ball. The umpire called for a ball-up and as some of the players staggered to their feet, the crowd of 27,334 witnessed an amazing sight: the last four players to their feet, the four closest to the ground and the ball, were all Swans.

Talk about desperation and working in numbers at the ball."[1]
