From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Ablett was one of a host of Cats who dined handsomely on another classy big-man effort from 1992 recruit Steven Handley.

Handley was a dominant and mobile big man that West Coast could not counter.

The former WAFL player managed 27 valuable hit-outs, all effective, 10 kicks and five marks.

He had the better of Paul Harding and talented Eagles' teenager Glen Jakovich, who was forced into the ruck by the Cats' dominance."[1]

Canberra Times[]

"Handley's impressive performance as a makeshift ruckman erased the bitter memories of his match at Subiaco Oval last year when he became the first WA Football League player to be ejected from the ground by an umpire.

The Eagles lacked the ball skills that had enabled the club to win 23 of its past 26 AFL matches in Perth.

West Coast's ball handling was poor in the first half although Dean Laidley, Chris Lewis and Paul Peos brought the Eagles back into winning contention in the third term."[2]
