From the papers[]
The Sunday Age[]
"Geelong got the first goal of the match, but was plagued by inaccuracy for much of the first quarter. It was a problem that would plague the Cats most of the evening.
Brad Ottens missed set shots right and left and Ablett sprayed a flying shot on the run.
At the other end, West Coast made the most of its chances, with Hansen kicking two great goals and Ashley Sampi adding a third to snare a quarter-time lead.
However, in the second quarter, Gardiner went to stretch for a low pass from Tyson Stenglein pass and pulled up short - running straight off the ground.
A torn hamstring looked the most likely problem, but West Coast would not confirm the extent of the injury."[1]
