West Coast scored a huge comeback win over North Melbourne in Hobart. Seemingly headed for defeat when North opened up a 35-point lead during the third quarter, the Eagles fought back to level the scores early in the last term but looked to have spent the last of their energy doing so, with the Kangaroos steadying to get back out to 13 points in the dying stages. An amazing late flurry saw West Coast surge into the lead, with Oscar Allen's quick snap putting them ahead with 18 seconds to play and the team able to hold off one last-ditch North push. Allen overcame a quiet first half to finish with five goals, while All-Australian hopeful Jeremy McGovern had a team-high 25 disposals and was a brick wall in defence.

From the coach[]
From the papers[]
The West Australian[]
"The Kangaroos looked to have broken the Eagles with a run of seven unanswered goals from the 22nd minute mark of the first term until the 20th minute of the third.
They led by nearly six goals after star Harry Sheezel kicked his second early in the third quarter, but the Eagles found another gear.
Jake Waterman broke the Eagles’ drought as West Coast kicked four goals in seven minutes to bring the game back to life.
And it gave them hope in a tight final term where both sides traded momentum."[1]
Reserves[]
Round 19 (10 August)
West Coast's reserves had another heavy loss, this time to East Perth at home. The game was over by half-time following a goalless second term by the home side, as the Royals extended their lead at every change en route to a 67-point win. Jack Petruccelle had a team-high 23 touches and Loch Rawlinson kicked two goals from limited chances.
