From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Waters' hit on Watson at the 20-minute mark of the third term sparked an angry push-and-shove.

It proved to be the major turning point in the match, with the Eagles, who led by 14 points at the time, booting 10 of the next 12 goals to race away with the win.

Kerr (25 possessions, two goals) was at his dominating best, but left the field midway through the final quarter after copping a heavy front-on bump from Nathan Lovett-Murray."[2]

Sunday Herald-Sun[]

"West Coast built a 25-point three-quarter lead off the back of clearance work from Kerr and the reliable Matthew Priddis, who were aptly supported by Shuey, whose mature play continues to bely his age.

The game was sealed when the Eagles came out in the fourth with renewed intensity and booted a clutch of goals that included Kennedy's 50th of the year.

But the big crowd was again sent into raptures when Nic Naitanui scored another highlight reel goal.

The young ruckman palmed the ball down at the centre bounce, followed up for a handball receive and then burned off the athletic Ryder en route to centre half-forward.

He had a bounce, then kicked truly from 50m to further enhance his reputation for the spectacular."[3]
