West Coast snapped a nine-game losing streak with a come-from-behind home win over Gold Coast. In a rare Friday night fixture, the Eagles looked headed for another defeat when Gold Coast pushed the lead to 23 points early in the third term, but fought their way back to set up a final-term wrestle. The home side spent most of the term trailing, pressing desperately for a go-ahead goal before Liam Duggan obliged with a snap out of a stoppage, and Jamie Cripps then threaded the needle from the boundary to make sure of victory. Tim Kelly had a team-high 29 disposals and eight clearances and Jake Waterman kicked three second-half goals to finish with four.

West Coast's reserves suffered a disappointing loss to Lathlain Park co-tenants Perth. The Demons went into the clash at the foot of the WAFL ladder but had the game on their terms for much of the contest. The Eagles threatened during the third term when they were able to close to within eight points, but Perth pulled away with a five-goal final quarter. Campbell Chesser had 23 disposals while Matt Flynn had 31 hitouts and a goal.
