From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Born-again full-forward Peter Sumich showed strength and speed as he grabbed six impeccable, hard-fought goals, initially giving Andrew Lemprill the runaround before Craig Nettlebeck was assigned and Lemprill was shifted on to Andrew Donnelly - who himself went on to grab four goals for the day.

Heatley, playing only his second game for the Eagles this year, was busy and unselfish up forward and through the centre.

Just before the end of the third term, he clashed heavily with the tireless Jim Stynes and ran from the ground with a gash to the right eyebrow. This added to the injury to his left eye last week."[1]
