West Coast won their third straight game and gave themselves a mathematical (but unlikely) chance of a finals berth with a comfortable win over the Roos. The Eagles started slowly but clicked into gear in the second term and then put their foot on the gas in the third, pulling out to a 40 point lead. North threatened to work their way back into the contest after kicking the first three goals of the final term but West Coast kicked four of the next five to run out easy winners. Adam Selwood had 33 possessions and won his head to head battle with Brent Harvey, but the result was soured by injuries to Mitch Brown and Chris Masten.
