West Coast continued their good run against Brisbane, kicking seven goals in the second term and having the game sewn up by three-quarter time. Quinten Lynch was the star, kicking eight goals in the best return by an Eagles forward since 2000, and Michael Braun ran tirelessly to amass 35 possessions in a performance that would result in his opponent Jason Akermanis later accusing him of doping.

From the papers[]

The West Australian[]

The second half saw the Eagles assert their expected authority, albeit without significant contributions from Kerr and Judd.

Lynch was the ever present danger up forward, who proved the obvious difference as they surged away to a 37-point three-quarter time lead.

Outstanding defence from Darren Glass, David Wirrpanda and Jaymie Graham ensured the Eagles extnded the margin beyond 10 goals.

The main concerns were Glass leaving the field with what looked to be a leg injury and Lynch hobbling around after a few heavy pack crashes."
