In Heritage Round, West Coast put some indifferent form behind them to blow away their local rivals, racking up a 12-goal lead by three-quarter time before easing off in the last. The big win was built in the middle where Daniel Kerr (34 possessions, 12 clearances), Chris Judd (28 possessions, 8 clearances) and Chad Fletcher (28 possessions) in particular put up some impressive numbers, and the scoring load was shared among 14 goalkickers. Judd was presented with the Glendinning Medal as best afield.

From the papers[]

The West Australian[]

"The Dockers had their own slice of fortune when Matthew Pavlich got a soft interference free kick against Adam Hunter for their second goal.

They needed that slice of luck because it was the Eagles producing all of the early midfield run.

Daniel Kerr had Josh Carr's measure, Tyson Stenglein had the better of Peter Bell and Chris Judd carved holes in the Fremantle defence in the opening 15 minutes of the term and finished it with 10 touches."[1]

The Age[]

"The only one small ray of hope for the Dockers was that they kicked three of four goals either side of half-time.

Again, that simply inspired the Eagles to inflict still more punishment. After Luke McPharlin kicked the first goal of the third quarter to drag Fremantle within 40 points, Kerr, Fletcher and Stenglein simply banged on the next three goals.

Cox added a fourth. Suddenly the margin was 67 points.

By three-quarter-time it was 73 points and the Eagles had 14 individual goalkickers."[2]
