From the papers[]

The West Australian[]

"Everywhere you looked around the ground, the match-ups pointed to West Coast literally running away with the game.

In the forward pocket, Glen Bowyer trotted after Phil Matera. In the midfield, Cory McGrath had to gallop with Judd.

At centre half-back, Daniel Chick played first on Anthony Koutoufides, then Lance Whitnall, which could have actually worked in the Blues' favour but Whitnall and Koutoufides took only four marks between them to half-time and Chick outstripped them at ground level.

West Coast might have started sloppily, with miskicks and fumbles common in the first 10 minutes, but when Mark Seaby outran Digby Morell to mark and goal in the 10th-minute, the Eagles took a lead they would never lose."[1]
