From the papers[]

The Age[]

"The early form of Jakovich was outstanding, dominating across half-back and feeding out to Michael Braun - who had an enthralling duel with Matthew Knights - Chad Morrison and Paul Symmons.

Enigmatic forward Chris Lewis maintained his good comeback form, but could have made it a real killing field. The normally deadly Lewis boot was off target, finishing with just two goals, but it should have been four or five.

McIntosh, with the impressive statistics of just 12 goals against him in 12 games at full-back this season, maintained that meanness by not conceding a major to his various opponents.

Some of McIntosh's cool defence under pressure was breathtaking; how he managed to get his long fingers around the ball when, seemingly, he was out of reach was amazing."[1]
