West Coast's 2024 season kicked off in Adelaide with a tale familiar to those who sat through the horrors of 2023, a disappointing 50 point loss. The visitors showed fight at times but struggled to stop Port Adelaide's fluid ball movement, with only the Power's inaccurate goalkicking preventing the margin from blowing out even further. Jack Petruccelle bobbed up with three goals while highly touted draftee Harley Reid impressed on debut with 16 possessions and five clearances.
