From the papers[]

The Age[]

"The Eagles were swamped. They only found their way out of the shackles of Fremantle's forward pressure by laborious means while the Dockers regained their ferocious attack on the ball.

Fremantle was so dominant in the first term Eagles forward Mark LeCras - who had kicked 15 goals in the previous two games - didn't have a disposal, as the Dockers exerted their influence and control on the game.

But LeCras was handed a free kick five minutes into the second quarter to give the Eagles' their belated first of the afternoon, and followed that up soon after with a set shot from a rare silky passage of play.

The Coleman Medal hopeful still finished with five goals for the game despite the lack of frequent - and quality - service into the West Coast forward 50 metres."[1]
