From the papers[]

The Age[]

"By half-time Pavlich and McPharlin had four goals each, and as many opponents as the Eagles struggled to counter the run and agility of the dynamic duo.

West Coast faced a 41-point deficit at half-time but in the third term Dean Cox took charge of the ruck, and provided an extra midfield option. Steven Armstrong was effective across half-forward while Mark LeCras and Ben McKinley struck form in attack, both booting two goals for the quarter.

When McKinley kicked his team's ninth goal, West Coast had closed the gap to 25 points, and then was trimmed to four goals soon after.

Fremantle's order had been restored late in the term when Aaron Sandilands fed off a clever close-in handball to Carr who kicked his second and gave his team a 45-point break, the biggest margin of the game to that point."[1]
