West Coast dominated all day at a wet and windy Subiaco, extending their lead at every change against a wasteful Bulldogs side that lacked cohesion. The Eagles controlled the midfield thanks to Chad Fletcher and Daniel Kerr and got plenty of drive from the backline, with Beau Waters picking up 25 touches.

From the papers[]
The Age[]
"It all unravelled for the Bulldogs between the three-minute mark of the first quarter, when Ben Harrison kicked the first goal of the game, and the 11-minute mark. In the minutes following the Harrison goal, Matthew Boyd had a handball picked off by Phil Matera for the equalising goal and the Bulldogs would never have the lead again.
Minutes later, experienced defender Rohan Smith was hurt. Andrew McDougall put West Coast in front and the match developed an air of inevitability.
Without captain Ben Cousins and Andrew Embley and despite Chris Judd having a moderate day, West Coast still structured an effective engine room led by Chad Fletcher, Daniel Kerr and Michael Braun.
Rugged left-footer Beau Waters excelled across half-back, Sam Butler had plenty of touches through the middle and Mark Seaby and McDougall threatened in attack."[1]
