West Coast suffered yet another heavy defeat, this time going down to Melbourne by nine goals. In their sole trip to the MCG for the year, the Eagles were lacklustre early as Melbourne pumped through seven first-term goals, but slowly fought their way back into the contest, playing out a relatively even second half. Tim Kelly had a team-high 23 possessions and Oscar Allen showed a return to form with four goals.
