From the papers[]

Sydney Morning Herald[]

"According to the timekeepers, yesterday's game between Sydney and the West Coast took a bit over 2½ hours.

If you were one of those unfortunates who braved the cold wind and occasional rain to go to the game, it probably seemed like an eternity.

And at the end of it all, you would have been asking yourself why you'd left the warmth of home to make the journey.

This was not scintillating footy. The only positive to come out of it was that Sydney won a game that in recent months they would have dropped, and the win kept them in seventh spot on the ladder."[1]
