In an emotion-charged game the Crows, playing their first match since the tragic death of their coach Phil Walsh, put through six goals in the first term to send a scare through the Eagles camp. They couldn't sustain the effort, with West Coast kicking eight goals to nil in the second quarter and doing it easily from there, running out 56 point winners with a big spread of goalscorers - 13 players in all found the major opening. Andrew Gaff kicked three goals from 36 possessions in what may have been the best game of his career to date, and Luke Shuey kicked two goals from 31 disposals in his 100th game.

From the coach[]
From the papers[]
The West Australian[]
"Two quick goals to youngster Charlie Cameron sparked the Crows into action.
Skipper Taylor Walker got in on the act with two of his own, with fellow big Josh Jenkins the silent hero as he set up numerous scoring opportunities.
But any thoughts of a feel-good victory were ruthlessly ended in the second quarter as West Coast ran riot.
The Eagles scored 8.7 from their 21 inside-50s, with the Crows managing just one paltry behind from their six forays forward.
Adelaide displayed more fight in the third quarter but the last term became another romp as West Coast iced the game in style."[2]
The Age[]
"The run of the Crows went away when Dangerfield went from the ground very early in the second term with a split lip, after an Elliot Yeo tackle.
During the eight minutes that he was off the ground the Eagles took control. They kicked only 1.3 in that time, but had managed to sway the momentum.
They kicked the next seven goals, including the first of the third term, from the boot of Luke Shuey, in his 100th game.
Sadly, the next Crows goal came from the boot of Wright, more than a quarter later and the margin had blown out to 46 points."[3]
