From the papers[]

The Age[]

"From the opening bounce, Footscray left no doubt it was there to grab four points - its kicking for goal, however, was awry to the tune of 4.9 by the end of the first term.

Richard Osborne had a wonderful start, outrunning John Worsfold, who was benched for the last few minutes of the first term after the former Footscray skipper grabbed five kicks and seven handpasses from him.

Wynd revelled in his ever-improving form back from injury, beating Ryan Turnbull and David Hynes in the ruck and taking seven marks in the first quarter. He continued in fine style for the rest of the match, taking telling grabs across the Eagles' half-forward line."[1]
