West Coast suffered a disappointing late fade-out to fall to the Saints at home. Despite being disjointed by the late withdrawals of Tim Kelly (hip pointer) and Jake Waterman (shoulder), the Eagles were able to keep their noses in front of St Kilda for much of their dour clash, but dropped away in the final term as the Saints kicked five goals to leave with the points. Liam Ryan and Jamie Cripps stood up in the absence of Waterman with three goals each, and Reuben Ginbey impressed with 20 touches and eight tackles.

Round 9 (2 June)

West Coast's reserves pipped the Demons in Northam to record consecutive wins for the first time since 2021. In a game that was close throughout, the Eagles initially struggled to adapt to the windy conditions but got on top in the second half. Jai Culley continued to press for a recall with 30 touches and a goal and Jack Hutchinson impressed with five goals on debut, having joined the club from the VFL just days earlier.
