Scott Selwood shut down former Eagles skipper Chris Judd while picking up 33 touches of his own, while Nic Naitanui starred with 31 hitouts and 25 possessions.

"The Eagles had the opportunities to stitch up the game in the first half, winning almost every stat that counted, but they butchered chances in front of goal.
The Eagles were especially wayward in the second quarter.
West Coast totally dominated the first 20 minutes, with Carlton at their wits' end to get the ball from the Eagles' forward 50m.
Invariably, when they managed to win possession they hacked the ball towards the centre where the Eagles' defenders had set up camp."[2]
