At a rain-sodden Subiaco, West Coast dominated the first three quarters against an out-of-sorts Adelaide, leading by more than 50 points at the final change before taking the foot off the pedal in the final quarter. The Eagles' win broke a run of three straight losses against the Crows and kept them in touch with the top eight. Ashley Hansen impressed with four goals in just his second AFL game, and Andrew Embley worked hard all day for 24 possessions before suffering an injury late in the match.
