From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Consecutive goals to Warren Tredrea had trimmed the margin to 15 points and alarm bells rang for the Eagles.

Enter Jakovich across half-forward. Jakovich followed the play to the attacking 50 metres and kicked an amazing long bomb in the closing minutes of the third term.

Daniel Metropolis, who had shared the bench with Kemp and Mainwaring at the start, kicked his team's 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th goals.

The match was spent as a contest when Kemp sharked a Brendon Fewster ruck tap to score his team's 17th goal."[1]
