From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Collingwood's momentum started to ebb just when John Worsfold cleaned up Graham Wright with a perfect hip-and-shoulder in the first quarter. Shane Watson had bowled over Eagles' youngster Josh Wooden a little earlier.

To that point, Collingwood had looked ominously good, seizing the running in the centre and stretching the Eagles' vaunted defence.

After the long delay as Wright left the field, Collingwood got one more goal, Scott Russell's long shot bouncing through. But that was the last goal for Collingwood.

Tony Evans, one of the Eagles' best all day, got one back almost immediately. Within moments of the start of the second quarter, West Coast had drawn level through goals from Nick Stone and Paul Symmons. Another three for the quarter put the Eagles in control, albeit never by a big margin, for the rest of the day."[1]
