From the papers[]

The Age[]

"Harvey made the most of Selwood being off the ground at the start of the second term. After managing just two possessions in the first quarter, he had 10 in the second.

He kicked the Roos second goal for the second quarter and had a hand in two further scoring shots – all in an eight-minute period.

But Aaron Black missed and Harvey then hit the post from close range – which accounted for two of at least four gettable shots before half-time that went abegging.

North managed 2.6 for the term, though from 14 inside-50 entries to take their lead to 20 points at the main break.

The hot and cold West Coast forwards managed just one behind for the term from 12 journeys into attack for the term."

Herald-Sun[]

"Priddis broke West Coast’s goal drought in the opening minute of the third quarter to give the home side some hope, but it would be the only goal for the Eagles for the term as the Kangas quickly reasserted their authority.

Shaun Atley answered before Eagles defender Mitch Brown gave away a silly 50m penalty to allow Leigh Adams to covert from the goalsquare to extend the advantage to 26 points.

The match was effectively over early in time-on of the third when Drew Petrie nailed his spectacular banana goal, pushing North’s lead beyond 40 points."

East Perth report[]

Foxtel Cup (Tues, 27 May)

East Perth thrashed an under-strength Norwood side at Subiaco Oval, winning 9.11.65 to 2.3.15. The game was marred by a melee in the third quarter and a sickening facial injury to Brant Colledge in the dying stages, after he copped a knee from teammate Scott Lycett in a marking contest. Colledge had been one of East Perth's best to that point, along with Simon Tunbridge and Adam Carter.

Appearing for East Perth: Carter, Colledge, Karpany, Lycett, Maginness, Main, McInnes, Sheed, Smith, Tunbridge

Round 10 (Mon, 2 June)

East Perth overcame arch-rivals West Perth in a hard-fought contest, winning 10.9.69 to 7.11.53. Big man Scott Lycett was one of the Royals' best with 22 touches, 23 hitouts and 3 goals, and Mark Hutchings had 28 possessions against his old side.

Appearing for East Perth: Brennan, Butler, Carter, Hutchings, Lycett, Maginness, McGinnity, McInnes, Sheed, Sinclair, Smith. Reserves: Barrass, Karpany, Main, Powell
