West Coast pushed the ladder-leading Cats for four quarters, the Eagles ultimately falling by 24 points but far from disgraced. Beau Waters continued to excel in the sweeping role across half-back with a massive 17 marks, and Andrew Embley had 24 possessions and a goal.

From the papers[]
The West Australian[]
"Beau Waters, a steady performer for most of the season in his comeback year, was his team's best.
At times in the past, the tough utility has had problems co-ordinating the physical and cognitive sides of his play, but any clouds have long cleared.
He played with courage and conviction and shapes as one of the key players in coach John Worsfold's grand plan.
The chemistry between Kennedy and LeCras continues to develop and McKinley booted some critical goals."[1]
The Age[]
"The Eagles put in a brave effort but in the end lacked the class to match it with Geelong for all four quarters despite the best efforts of Beau Waters (33 possessions), Josh Kennedy (three goals), Ben McKinley (three goals) and Matt Priddis.
Midfielder Adam Selwood, who performed an excellent shut-down job on Gary Ablett in the first half, injured his shoulder after copping a ferocious hip-and-shoulder from Corey Enright.
Enright could come under scrutiny from the match review panel for the bump while Cameron Mooney had little impact in the game after rolling his left ankle in the first half."[2]
