From the papers[]
The Age[]
"At full-forward, Chris Lewis seems to have reached a new stage in his football career, where he laughs at the commotion around him, be it admiring or antagonistic, and just plays football. Now it is his temper that is long and his hair short.
There was Lewis' distinctive mark on half of West Coast's goals, for he kicked five and assisted in four others. Lewis is the sort of player who can even make a smother look artistic, as he did in the second quarter.
By the second half, the match had become sufficiently one-sided for the Eagles to relax their monks' guise and allow the footballers inside them to express themselves."[1]
Canberra Times[]
"The Eagles controlled the match almost throughout, leading by 29 points at half-time and by 45 at three-quarter time.
They outgunned the Demons in most positions and steadily increased their lead throughout the game before a fairly even final quarter.
West Coast's reliable defence again turned in a superb performance.
Glen Jakovich and Michael Brennan shadowed Melbourne centre half-forward David Schwarz and full-forward Allen Jakovich respectively, keeping them to only one goal each. "[2]
