Princes Park, also known as Ikon Park (and prior to that Optus Oval, MC Labour Park and Visy Park) for sponsorship reasons, has been the home ground for Carlton since the formation of the Victorian Football League in 1987. It hosted VFL/AFL games until 2005, making it the last of the suburban Melbourne grounds to host league matches. In addition to Carlton a number of other Melbourne-based clubs hosted home games at the ground. Since 2005 it has been redeveloped into Carlton's training and administration base, with the club's VFL side Northern Blues playing several of its home games at the ground.

West Coast played 24 games at the ground for 7 wins, including 11 games (and 3 wins) against Carlton.
