Canberra Times[]

"Mark Neeld edged Geelong to within five points at the 17 minute mark of the final term but just two minutes later Sumich soccered the ball off the ground to give the Eagles much-needed breathing space.

The persistent Cats once again drew within a goal of the lead when rover Robert Scott booted his second major for the match.

But Sumich again quelled Geelong's fightback with an other goal to help set up West Coast's victory.

Mid-fielder David Hart sealed the match and Geelong's fate with a running goal."
