West Coast wound up their pre-season campaign with a solid win over Fremantle at Perth Stadium. The Eagles were challenged at times by their cross-town rivals but were able to hold them at bay and opened up a match-winning lead in the second half, before two late Dockers goals cut the margin to ten points on the siren. Liam Ryan kicked three goals and had a hand in several others and Andrew Gaff had a team-high 31 possessions, but the Eagles lost new recruit Zac Langdon after a head clash, with the former Giant needing to be driven off the ground in a medi-cart.
