West Coast head to Adelaide for the inaugural AFLX tournament but avoid leaving Perth during a trimmed-down pre-season competition.

Format[]

Each side played two games, reduced from three in previous years. As with recent years there was no Grand Final and no pre-season premiership. The customary nine-point "supergoals" for goals kicked from outside the 50m arc were done away with.

Prior to the JLT Community Series, the club will play in a short-form round robin AFLX competition in Adelaide.
